ARTISTS IN THEIR SPACES
A research in creative documentation of movement artists in their sacred spaces working with their limitations, and going beyond them.
The project started with my intent to collaborate with artists to document and creatively present their practice. If my practice was sketching or painting, I'd have tangible manifestations of my work/journey ; as a movement artist, my practice is transient, it begins and ends in my space without no one but the people immediately present observing it, with no way to share, preserve, revisit, or reflect on that moment again. For me, it is unsettling and I wanted to document those moments, and i wanted to explore how movement practice and camera interacted to create new questions. It is not only for practicing professional artists, but for anyone who is practicing an art. Since 2021, I have collaborated with over 15 artists.
